The river rooms

Town Hall in San Marco Square posts daily 4:30–6:00 PM in the lounge and bar, with $8 cocktails, $7 wines by the glass, $5 local craft beers, and $5 and $10 happy-hour snacks. Over in Avondale, The Blue Fish posts Monday–Friday 3:00–6:30 PM: well mixed drinks $5.50–$5.75, martinis, margaritas, and mojitos $7, domestic bottles $4, and house wines $6, with a dozen house oysters $16, PEI mussels $12, a Baja taco $5, and beef or chicken tacos $4.50. Across the river, Chart House Jacksonville on Southbank posts daily 4:00–6:30 PM with $6 well spirits, $8 premium spirits, $9 cocktails, $8 glass wines, and $5.25 domestic bottles, plus truffle skinny fries $7, seared ahi nachos $9, fish tacos $11, and prime rib sliders $13.

The beach ticket

JB's Jax Beach Bar & Grill off Fifth Avenue North posts Monday–Friday 2–7 PM with $3 domestic draft, $3 house liquor, and $4 house wine, repeated on Monday Service Industry Night 9 PM–12 AM. No ceremony and no food ticket attached. That is the beach formula: long window, low numbers.

Jax brews its own

The $5 local craft beer on the Town Hall board has somewhere to come from. Bold City Brewery pours from its Rosselle Street rooms in Jacksonville, running a working tap list with weekly events like trivia and live music. When a San Marco or Riverside menu says local draft, this is the kind of room it means.

How to drink it like a local

  • River side, 4:30 PM: San Marco lounge (Town Hall) inside the daily 4:30–6 window. Local craft beer first.
  • Oyster hour: Avondale (Blue Fish) Monday–Friday 3–6:30. Order by the printed price, not the rumor.
  • Sand side: Jacksonville Beach (JB's) Monday–Friday 2–7. Draft, patio, done.
